What’s been done. But more awaits!

Once again, we have arrived in December – that festive season of eating, having fun and of course traveling! It is also rather amazing that Travelogue (and Travitas) is almost half a year old!

Since many members of our team have been flooded with questions about who we are and what we do, the Travelogue by Travitas team has decided now is an opportune time to do a round-up of our activities so far – a form of reflection for Travitas and its members, while sharing what we have done with other like-minded souls out there.

Since our Globetrotter roots, we have kickstarted a series of events – some sharing sessions, some talks and a couple of events in collaboration with the Singapore Management University’s Office of Global Learning.

This week onwards, Travelogue by Travitas will also be increasing the frequency of new posts, from weekly to twice a week.

Of course, the highlight would have to be Next Stop: Asia, the first in a series of biannual festivities celebrating particular regions or countries in the world. Kickstarting the week with a Asia Knowledge Expert contest on Monday, more than 10 students won passport holders after answering Asia-related questions posed by roving Travitas members. Across the week, seminars relating to overseas exchange, internships as well as exciting places to visit in Singapore and around the region hyped up the festivities. Ending the event with a bang, three lucky winners were announced for a Facebook photo contest which encouraged students to send in inspiring photos from past travels. Each won $100 worth of travel vouchers.

Going forward, SMU Travitas has a whole string of events lined up for the coming year – which definitely includes more interesting articles and features for our beloved Travelogue readers. More details and photos, as well as updates on our upcoming events can be found on our Facebook page. Look out for exciting campaigns and contests which might be coming up – there are prizes to be won, courtesy of our sponsors.

Exclusively for SMU Travitas members, we have secured some exclusive rates from STA Travel, one of our corporate sponsors. These include discounts off ISIC cards, daytrips to Asia destinations and overseas accommodation – so do look out for more details via email!

Till our next feature – which is a mere three days away (compared to a week’s wait), the Travelogue by Travitas team wishes you a good start to the festive season. Do feel free to drop us an email if you have any ideas or comments to share with us. We are always looking forward to hearing from you 🙂
